Malawi is a large settlement in a canyon with a lot of newly built buildings.
*We buy a room and food at the ’Night Oasis"
*Neal sells statue for 275 gold.
*Get info that the waterfall has run dry. A priest has left and is said to be related to the waterfall drying.
We get in trouble with a scholar. He talks of a Kings tome.
*We meet ’Sha’ri’, who looks to be the waste walker (shaved head and stuff), she wants to go with us to meet with Saladeen (the emeratise).
*We go find Alarys (the shia) and tell her about ’Sha’ri’, she runs and confronts ’Sh’ari’.
*Alarys tries to kill ‘Shari’ we help somewhat, but keep ’Sha’ri’ alive. Talathel cures disease on Alarys.
*Walkers work for ‘Dust Enclave’, ’Sha’ri’ is trying to get a talisman from the water elements for the enclave. She won’t talk about where the enclave is. She can help us get the water back, but we’ll have to work with an evil person.
*Take ‘Shari’ to Saladeen. She is imprisoned and he agrees to meet with us in the morning. We talk about all the quests.
*Meet with Saladeen. Get job to help with water situation. Missing priest who can talk to water spirits. Get a heart of a water spirit.
*Qu’resh (the lead? scholar we went to ask about the cult) says their might be a connection between the cult and the tomb.
*Tirendal (the priest of the shrine near the waterfall that talked to the water spirits) left suddenly the only info we found is he that left regarding ‘purification’. They don’t like the idea of us getting a water spirit heart.
*We go to the shrine to get the heart of a water spirit. Sha’ri was asked to join us. Alarys is also coming with us. Down in the cavern their is slightly glowing walls, a river bed, and a path. Fungi and mushrooms grow down here.
*Neal almost falls off the pass, but catches himself. Kostya falls, Talathel and Xaya fail to strength check on the rope.
*Encounter! Plant things.
*Meet water elemental. Polluted water comes from behind.
*Encounter! Water thing. It’s going down. Kill polluted and regular water elemental. Collect hearts
*Sha’ri attacks Xaya at the narrow point of the path and runs with hearts. Talathel falls, but Alarys grabs onto him.
*Sha’ri fights the group. Before dying she throws down the bag of heart to try to escape.
*Xaya kills Sha’ri
Sharif Kiba warns of Isiryt who has been acting strangely (such as starting the war)
*General trading; prepping for travel
*Warned in the night by the head servant of Kiba; Sharif Kiba has been captured and they are searching for Kiba’s associates)
*Escape in the night/morning (running from the guards through barricades); escape with our lives
*Travel in the heat of the day and the cold of the night (guards still searching for us)
*Hunkered down in sand storm using our sand tubes
*Search stone city inside the canyon passage
*Trading with desert people (Ausk: silver dagger → small sand statue; appraised at 300 gold )
*Cleft in cliff wall; room inside; found water dripping into jugs and a cold iron short spear with dragon carved metal shaft. Slept inside. Colin raised skeleton.
*Travel to intercept the caravans. See a Pardel (half giraffe half panther with a lick of hydration)
*No caravan, but we come across a group of pilgrims traveling to an oasis to pay respect to their gods
*Make it to the shrine of an old god (name has been lost). Talathel heals a child and his father. When paying respects Talathel and Xaya gain a blessing (once per day you can use either cure moderate wounds, lesser restoration, or cure paralysis. Talathel heals 3 more people using the rest of lay on hands. Xaya heals child.
*Go to Waters of Oboniba with man we met at the shrine.
*Encounter! Black 9 foot giant (troll thing). KO by Neal, Killed with fire by Colin
*Waters of Oboniba shrine gives blessing to Talathel (once per day cure serious wounds or cure disease)
*Camp at first shrine and heal the people there.
*Take the right fork that leads to the ‘weapons of the gods’ rather than the left fork that leads to the city
*Find a small settlement with a well with star dust around it?
*Explore one of the larger closed buildings (forge?) Two zombie dehydration monsters attack inside. Colin controls one of the husks and orders it to attack the other. It is defeated.
*Inside room with the valve (Neal disabled device) is a dead figure curled on the floor. Shadowy figure raises from the underneath the dead body. Shadow killed by Talathel using cure serious wounds at a 5 strength.
*Found ledger under the body stating that the star dust is driving people mad and changing the flesh to some abomination. Found a sheath of a bastard sword.
*Neal broke through the wall into the other room (after failing a pick lock check at 39). Inside were over 200 kegs of oil. Xaya finds that the machine in the other room can somehow turn materials into other things? Something with the star dust.
*Colin found a paper in the sand in the office. It describes the operations. They collected and smelted the marital known as ?? (scarlet metal). What started out as a few disappearance turned really bad. There were monsters that lived in the sand and the survivors barricaded themselves in these room.
*Found a small lock box in the sand. Can’t open it. We sleep, Ausk is dehydrated and needed care through the night. Koesta and Talathel had really low strength. Rested. Used up lesser restorations.
*As we are leaving Colin sees something off on a nearby wall. There is a gap (wide crack) and Ausk inspects it, it is tunnel like. Ausk marks it; scratches at it.
*Something under the sand comes up and disappears.
*We leave the village and go back to the fork in the road. We have about three days until the city.
*First day of travel goes well. A scratching come from one of the bedrolls. The sounds it coming from Colins backpack. Xaya opens it up and a critter escapes. Colin channels neg energy and kills a mouse.
*We come to an caravan around an oasis. An evil friendly caravan owner (ka’shin) greets us and brings us over for food. Ausk tries trading with Ka’shin the sand statue for gold.
*Xaya gets wind that a caravan is coming that is a threat to us. Ka’shin strikes Xaya dumb and charms Talathel. He than charms Xaya. Ausk doesn’t know what is going on. We stay for dinner.
*Ausk sneak attacks Ka’shin with his ax.
*Talathel breaks out of an illusion, there is no oasis, no caravan, only a “merchant”.
*Ausk and Talathel attack Ka’shin. Ka’shin blinds Ausk. Talathel kills Ka’shin.
*We come across a figure dressed in white garb expecting something on the ground with a spear and a buckler. She is looking for the waste walker. A magical human that dries up everything in her path. Alaris, the figure in white, is looking for the waste walker because she dried up her tribes oasis.
*We reach the settlement of moawe.
